Gurpahul Kaur

Gurpahul (she/her) is a third-year international student in the Faculty of Arts, pursuing an Honors degree in Psychology with a minor in Political Science. She is extremely passionate about helping people in whatever capacity she can and is a growing mental health advocate. This is her third year in Active Minds at University of Manitoba and she takes pride in the work that the club does.If you see her around, please dont hesitate to stop by and say hi, she loves to talk to people!

Pauline Lucena

Pauline (she/her) is a Sociology Honours student in her third year. As the VP of Active Minds at the University of Manitoba, she seeks to support her peers and spread awareness that nobody is alone in their struggles. She likes to spend her free time taking walks and listening to music, painting and playing video games with friends!

Kanza Ayesha Kamal

Kanza (she/her) is going into her third year of Asper School of Business at University of Manitoba as Actuarial Science as her major!

Krish Bhalala

Krish is a Computer Science student at the University of Manitoba who's passionate about technology and community. He wears many hats on campus - from Teaching Assistant, Supplemental Instructor Lead, Content and Study skills tutor, to Vice President membership for International Community Center, and an active volunteer in multiple student clubs. When he's not coding, Krish is deeply involved in student organizations, bringing energy and fresh ideas to campus life. His goal is to support students and make a positive impact through his technical knowledge and personal commitment.

Ramatjyot Singh

Ramatjyot Singh is a Computer Science student passionate about software development, cloud computing, and distributed systems. He enjoys watching anime, playing sports, and has a background in karate. A problem solver at heart, he loves exploring new technologies, breaking things, and fixing them. He also enjoys chess, arm wrestling, and meeting new people. Whether it's coding, competing, or innovating, he's always up for a challenge.

Nehemiah Kayode

Nehemiah Kayode (he/him) is a second-year University 1 student with aspirations to pursue a degree in Environmental Design at the Faculty of Architecture. He has recently joined the executive team of Active Minds for the 2024-25 school year. With a strong passion for architecture and design, Nehemiah is excited to contribute his skills and ideas to the club. He decided to join Active Minds to foster a supportive community that promotes mental well-being and to collaborate on projects that make a positive impact.

Vida (she/her) is a Microbiology major with a passion to pursue the healthcare field. Joining Active Minds was a natural choice for Vida, who is committed to fostering a supportive environment and learning about mental health together. Two of Vida\'s favourite ways of de-stressing are through sports and reading.

Neha Saru Magar

Saru (she/her) is an Asper student majoring in Accounting and Finance. Passionate about numbers and loves to advocate for the well-being of the students. She has joined Active Minds to contribute to the vital conversation around mental health awareness and support. Saru believes in the power of community, education, and awareness to break down the stigma associated with mental health issues. She likes to travel and explore in her idle time.

An (she/her) is a Vietnamese first-year student currently exploring the fields of Mathematics, Data Science, and Computer Science. Her decision to join Active Minds stems from her commitment to mental health, a top priority for her. Ans goal is to create a safe space where people can discuss mental health openly, share their concerns, and receive guidance through difficult times. By participating in the club, she aims to deepen her understanding of human psychology and contribute to fostering an enthusiastic and supportive energy on campus.

Clifford (he/him/his) is a second-year Theatre Major at the University of Manitoba. He volunteers as a retail clerk at the Saint Boniface Hospital Gift Shop, enjoying his role in enhancing the hospitals community spirit. Clifford is also a passionate member of Active Minds at UM, advocating for mental health awareness and support among his peers. His dedication to theatre and mental health reflects his commitment to making a positive impact both on and off the stage.

Tofu (she/her) is currently studying genetics with a minor in family social sciences. in a world where mental health is often misunderstood as just a word, tofu joined this club because she believes it is intricately connected to every aspect of our lives - how we manage stress, comprehend ourselves, cultivate relationships, pursue careers, and maintain physical health and well-being. she is passionate about exploring these connections and contributing to the promotion of overall well-being within her community.

Shalina (she/they) is a third year student majoring in Physics and Astronomy, with a minor in Mathematics and Sociology. She loves to play soccer and games in her free time! She chose to join this club because mental health is something she has always strongly advocated for and is a topic that holds great meaning for her.

Safiyyah (she/her) is in her second year in the Faculty of Arts. She joined Active Minds with a dedication to expanding mental health awareness, especially among international students on campus. Safiyyahs mission is to ensure that every student, even in times of distress, understands the fragility of their mental well-being. She aims to support the club with efficiency to foster an empathetic community that embraces a new narrative around mental health.

Ashmeet (she/her) is currently a first-year Bachelor of Science student at University of Manitoba, pursuing for her major in Nursing. She brings enthusiasm and initiative to her academic journey. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has been a student leader manager and manager for peer education at IM demonstrating strong leadership, effective communication, and interpersonal skills and has been awarded multiple times for exemplary commitment and dedication to her college community. She decided to join Active Minds because of her deep passion for mental health awareness and advocacy among students. Being part of this movement aligns with her values and aspirations to make a meaningful impact in the lives of her peers.

Oyinkansola (she/her) is a highly motivated student currently studying Electrical Engineering. She is also very passionate about telling stories through photography. She has been into photography for five years and owns her own photography brand called ShotByOyin. She is also very passionate about her faith in Christ. She loves spending time with her family. She decided to join Active Minds at Umbc because she is passionate about utilizing photography and videography to convey individuals narratives and advocate for mental health awareness.

Irtiza (he/him) is a second-year undergraduate international student from Dhaka, Bangladesh, currently enrolled at the University of Manitoba within the University 1 Faculty. With aspirations to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering in the coming years. In addition to his academic pursuits, Irtiza has joined the executive team at Active Minds at the University of Manitoba for the 2024-2025 term, serving as the photographer. This role aligns perfectly with his long-standing passion for photography and cinematography, an interest he nurtured since his early years.

Rania Hamdun

Rania (she/her) is a Psychology student interested in minoring in Biological Science or a science-related field. Her passions primarily revolve around science, research, reading, and outdoor adventures. She finds great joy in baking and cooking, and if anyone needs recipe suggestions, she is the one to go to. She also loves puzzles and word searches and is always up for discussing books or perhaps a word search/puzzle challenge.

Vidhi Nolkha

Vidhi (she/her) is a 3rd year Psychology student minoring in Family Social Sciences at University of Manitoba. She has always wanted to spread awareness and advocate for mental health and decided to join Active Minds for the very reason. She hopes to ease stigma around mental health at university and encourage student to seek help without any kind of fear of judgement. In her free time, she loves reading and could often find going on walks around her neighborhood. She hopes to make a meaningful impact with her time at Active Minds.
